I like old tire tubes. One tube produces two strips long enough to wrap

popular routes or places and not see dozens of people on rental bikes.
Sometimes, it's literally hundreds. I do not know what they charge, but the
bikes look to be well maintained and most if not all are hybrids with

I commute on Summit Avenue on the way home, and I find that when I
come up on other bikes, one of the great things that identifies it as
a bicycle is pedal reflectors. Their movement immediately says bike
and I'm surprised how well/far away they can be seen. Certainly

I run my Dinotte on low/no flash and my Planet Bike blinkeys blink'n.
The Dinotte on flashing is just totally over the top.
I've been using this set up for several years and haven't had any problems with
seizures or appoplexy near as I can tell.

I usually find the goathead(s) in a flat tire the next day.
FWIW tubeless works great riding through a patch. Pick 'em out and
keep riding. That's the #1 reason I went that way on my 29er.

The now quasi iconic Tarik Saleh Bike Club mustache was achieved with
the help of clubman wax, which smelled pleasant was reasonably easy to
use

Agreed. Don't forget the ever wonderful BART transit. More than able
to cut a few hours of your day to get to the beautiful places of the
bay area quicker. When in March are you planning to visit? If I'm
