I don't know how strong they need to be, but my impression is that Grant prefers tires with stronger sidewalls--presumably because they are safer? I am a fan of high performance tires for event rides. The Pari-moto tires are fantastic. I also have Grand Bois Cypres for my 700c bike. For "everyday"
