They should definitely fit. I don't imagine Rivendell would be shipping the bikes with tires that can't be fenderized, and you really need a minimum of 10-12mm for clearance. The Kendas at 1.75" are 48mm, and the fenders are 60mm. I could be wrong, but I imagine these bikes can take the one

Hey Michael, this was In the early stages of trek making mountain bikes, so the 800 series all had 26in wheels at that time. The clearances are insane. There is still a ton of room to go bigger than the 2.25 that is in there now. The color is anthracite from Olympic powder coating in Irvine.
