My experience is with a 46 Clem which I sold, and my current 51 Appaloosa. Honestly, I think you would have to really want to find differences in ride to find them: They both are commuter/touring/light-trail oriented designs with long stays, similar tubing diameters and canti/v-brake mounts.

I have used Vittoria Hypers 40/38 on my Bomba , which I ride mostly on pavement, but I don't hesitate to ride it anywhere when I feel like it regardless of the tire. That'd be the minimum tire I'd ride with it, the Hypers also don't have alot of volume for their width. I've not ridden

John - Most of my riding is on pavement; depending on my commute, about four miles may also be on the packed clay and gravel of the local tow path. I started out with 50mm Schwalbs on my Hunqapillar; the ride was great, the gravel felt like pavement, the pavement felt like silk, etc.
