Are you still looking to trade this bike for another Riv? I have a 54
Hillborne that's a touch too small for me that I may be interested in
trading. I'm in the Bay Area, too.

Good point! Based on my experience, my size / weight, and my riding
environment, the Appaloosa would be the winner if I had to choose between
the two. It has a wider range of uses for me.

you either use a
25.4 stem or get a shim for a 26.0 stem- the bars WILL scooch around with
aggressive pulling.

Hey Ben. I'm really sorry to hear about the accident! I went through this
back in January after another cyclist rammed into me head-on. I was riding
my Appaloosa. I crashed really hard. The initial impact with the other
cyclist damaged my brake lever and bars. The subsequent crash into
I just went out and tweaked the angle into the recommended range. It's
interesting in that it brought the loop in the front up a bit, putting it
into a more comfortable, upright spot for stretching out. Thanks for the
tip!

I can confirm that my 700c x 38mm Shikoro tires are 35mm on Velocity A23

Appa and Homer, a single speed would likely be a lighter bike that just
requires less thought. Just a nice bike to add in there to add some variety

Paul Components Touring Cantilevers. I haven't run cantis in a very long
time and wanted to try some out for this build. I only did a very, very
short ride around the neighborhood on them yesterday because of my injury,
but I think I got them dialed in pretty well.
