I have a computer on my randonneuring bike, but I only use it at night
to help make turns. My perception of time and distance gets pretty
warped at night. I don't look at it the rest of the time because I don't
reset the trip mileage. None of my other bikes have computers. In the

I have a Spanninga SPXb that has been mounted on a rear plastic fender
since 2006. It is the second set of fenders. I have done over 10,000K of
randonneuring events, plus probably an equal number of training miles,
and it is still in good shape.

Thanks for the ride report. I use a small Acorn handlebar bag. I keep my
brevet card in the rear of the bag behind a piece of coroplast cut the
same size as the bag. I can carry 2-3 hours worth of food (about 3
natural energy bars and 2 gel cube packages) in front. Another option is

Congrats on joining RUSA. If you are near Springfield, MO, ride our 200K
brevet on March 20. I run a 200K and 300K through the St. Louis region.
More info here: http://www.rognstads.com/brevets/ If you cannot make the
brevet, we have several permanent routes. Good luck in 2011.

I am the same height as you, but my PBH is 89. I ride a 63 canti

I would buy a 64 or 65. I would not worry about the standover height
