I just swapped out a late 80s lx crankset for a xd2 triple. The xd2 definitely sits further out on the bb spindle. I'm having the same issue with maxing out fd pull, which hasn't changed and worked fine with the older crank. It's not a huge issue, but I'll swap the bb when it gets too annoying.
