I used to own this bike. It was a demo that I bought complete from
Rivendell. I sold it to a forum member and he’s the one who added the
disc mounts. He listed it for sale not long after that as I remember. I
still have the original unadulterated fork.

I dialed things in a bit...I changed the saddle to a B-68 and the cranks from
170 to 175. The longer crank seems to work better for this set-up. While there
is no frame pump peg it's not a problem. The Topeak Master Blaster 54-59 pump
fits perfectly between the tubes and doesn't budge.

suggested PBH range for this one is 83 to 88. So I'm just about dead center of
that. It's not a traditional look but that's what my custom Rivs are for :^).

The early Salukis won't fit much more than the Fatty Rumpkin or Hetre. The
later runs with the kickstand plates will take a larger tire but by that

I owned a first generation Riv...Road, Waterford built. It was a 59.5. I
could run the Pasela 35 but, these bikes were built when the actual tire
size was quite a bit less than the label stated. The old 35 Paselas
measured about 31~32. It fit the frame and was the limit, without fenders.

59.5 Rivendell Road Standard, frame, fork and headset.
This is one of the early Waterford builds with the bi-plane fork, '95 or
'96. I have owned it for a bit over 5 years. Structurally/functionally it
is fine but the original paint will need attention of some sort, depending
