The one advantage of separate bars and stem is that it allows you to adjust the angle of the bars. With the Bullmoose style the bar and stem are one unit, fixed at a certain angle, so you can't change the position of the grips like you can if you have separate bars and stem. I vote for B. On

Oh, I forgot to answer A). Your description of riding with fingertips at the end of rides tells me the Albas don't reach back enough. When I rode the Bosco-ed Clem at RBW I alternated between the rear grips, and resting at the tops of the curves like hoods on a dropbar. I think you'll like it.

Honestly, I prefer the albatross for all around riding, Bosco's are fine, but they are even more sensitive to bar height adjustment. Just raising mine 1/4" was a huge improvement and difference in feel. Additionally, they might not feel as good on your bike as they do on your husband's.

With any bars, set up is everything, but if you don't take 2" horizontal extension from your normal road bar stem, you're not even in the right ballpark for moustache bars. Here's a recent thread with all the common experiences.

Hi. I'm a mechanic at RBW and I would never grease a stem clamp. For 'bar clicking I would grease the heck out of the stem quill, inside of steerer tube, and the quill wedge. I would thoroughly clean the handlebar at clamp and the inside of the clamp. Clicks/creaks often occur due to dirt or

An argument could possibly be made if using a steel handlebar in an aluminum quill (or the other way around) to prevent, whas-called, galvanic corrosion isn't it? The same reason forgetting to grease a quill adequately can lead to it getting stuck in the steerer. In my case, yeah, just doing

Inspect bars, stem, and shim for cracks. No cracks? Grease all contacting surfaces of stem clamp, stem clamp bolt, shim, and bar to help silence the noise. Test for tightness before riding. Jim Langley reccommends the greasing of bars/stem interface to silence the creaks. But I dont jnow it is

I use a saddlebag on the bars, with the seat post strap around the canti hanger and headset. It works. You might also hard-mount a bag of some kind to your bars, using a handlebar mount for a bottle cage.

I use a Carradice Barley saddlebag as a handlebar bag on my albatross bars. Two buckles on the bars and one on the quill. It is very secure and no swaying that I have noticed, but a cable hanger for cantis would get in the way (I use v-brakes). I can take a photo tomorrow if you like? You
