FYI I have the exact same bike. When I bought it, it had albatross bars on it and it also came with a set of drops. I left the albatross on there and they are working out just great. I can ride very upright and I have zero neck pain now thanks for that. I even did a century last October on it.

I find the "difficulty braking from the hoods on non aero brakes" to be much Ado about very little. Anybody with fairly reasonable hand strength can pull that lever toward the handlebar from either position. The brake doesn't know where your hand is. I wonder if maybe there were levers way back
