Picking up on an old to check Patrick: do Snoqualmie fit your Quikbeam (with or w/o fenders)? On 700C or 650B? Thanks, Sean On Sunday, June 11, 2017 at 7:23:59 PM UTC-7, Deacon Patrick wrote: > > I love my A23s on my Quickbeam, and they sport Barlow Pass and would be > happy with Snoqualmie

OP here, clarifying a few things: I'm not really concerned about my fitness levels--I go plenty fast on my Mercian superlight. I just wanted to explore the idea of going a bit faster on my dearly beloved Atlantis, which is my preferred bike for many reasons. As for tires, my personal

Good thoughts from fellow forumites here. I'll add my $0.02. For my current favorite bike – 650b Ebisu All-Arounder, I now have one light wheelset with PL23 + EL Hetres and one slightly heavier one, Synergy + Lierres. For those "Sunday morning", good weather rides, I really like the *feeling*

I think you don't need more stuff, just train more effectively/differently. It's so easy to just buy more stuff and think you can buy performance, but so hard to look at the motor and admmit all the money in the world won't buy a better motor. You see it everywhere, people spending endless $$

To expand Bill's point: the engine matters more than the wheels. Several thoughts: -- once up to speed there little cost to heavier rims, so unless your friends stop and start a lot, there will be little actual benefit other than lightening your wallet and increasing your acceleration. -- have

Thank you, Bill! Really, I just wanna keep up with my buds on slightly faster rides. "8-10% faster" was a perhaps silly attempt to quantify that. And in no way will I use these new wheels to justify a new frame. No, I mean it. No, that wasn't the Homer Hilsen page open in my browser window.

John G indicated that he wants to buy lighter wheels that will make him ride 8-10% faster with the same effort. He then asked if that was crazy talk. It may be crazy talk if you want that to obtain measurable and verifiable data that objectively shows that you are going faster without

Thanks, all. Abyclehank asked, "What speed wheels are you looking for?" Let's say I'd like to speed up by 8-10% (15 mph to 16 mph). Is that crazy talk? RichS asked how much I've played with tire pressure. My answer: not much! I'm 195 lbs, and I run my 44cm Snoqualmie Pass tires at 50 PSI. The

John, A couple of thoughts: 1. How much have you played with tire pressure? 2. If you know someone who has a wheelset that meets your requirements maybe they would let you borrow it to check out before making the financial investment in your own wheels? FWIW my 53cm Atlantis runs 26"

I love my A23s on my Quickbeam, and they sport Barlow Pass and would be happy with Snoqualmie if they'd fit. A note: I definitely notice a difference in quality with my Rich built rims over the factory built. It's amazing what they take. I expect that with my Atlas on my Hunqapillar, but I put
