I run Marathon Racers on my touring tandem and have been very pleased with
them. Much of our riding is dirt roads and these tires offer great comfort
and have not flatted in the first 800 miles, even with 400+ lbs. of load.
On my single touring bike I commuted for a number of years, over a
Marathon Supreme in 700C. I also like Big Apple and Mondial. In 650B, there
aren't many chooses, but the Marathon is probably the best of them, in terms of
durability. There's no reason you can't tour on Hetres, though, or any other
tire. After all, touring is just riding your bike.

Though I agree that the review is of little value, I think is is more
like blasting a Bombadil for not being a Rodeo than blasting a 69cm
bike for not being your size. Gear preferences are quite personal, and
RBWs 12-34s are not going to be every bodies preference. Whats great
about them is that

My current 12-28 seven is okay but my 24 tooth front chain ring is not low
enough for my local steep hills at my age and weight. My other bike sports
a 44x32x22 12-32 seven and its nearly perfect so I figure the 44x34x24
