I would strongly recommend going the used/craigslist route. Such a better
value, she can get SUCH a better bike going that way, even if she wants to
take it to the LBS to get a full tune-up/service.

I am currently contemplating picking up a Tarptent to fill a need for a
one person bike camping tent. I currently have the hennessy hammock, which
is fantastic but dependent on trees, and a big/relatively heavy/substantial
3 person tent.

studs intact, should be at least two more winters in 'em. *$80
I have the berthoud 60s and Rock and Road tires, and there is plenty of
room in between. I have run the 60's with marathon supreme 50's and that

No experience w/ the front rack, but I had the rear rack with the pannier
supports. I really liked it. It was a bit heavy w/ the supports on, so I
mostly didn't leave them on. I would add them when I knew I was going to
need the panniers for a longer trip.

I always think ads like this are fishy - that don't say anything about the
bike other than the name on the side. I am a born skeptic perhaps. Just
seems like if someone has gone through the trouble to obtain a riv they
would know more about it, and if they were going to sell it they would

Literally the only time i have been like hm, weird when trying to get
something to work on my 64 2TT Sam was when I figured out that there was no
fender mount on the rear brake bridge. Everything else has been perfect,
just absolutely perfect. It was an easy fix (I ended up just zip tying

Sugino XD doesn't have one of the bolts inside, just FYI. Has the dust cap
cover thing, but that's it.
Took some penetrating oil and a few minutes of using a crank pulling tool
that allowed for a long wrench
ahah. didn't know i was going to step into controversy the likes of
helmet/no helmet with the whole grease thing.
the dust cover is also the bolt on the sugino crank.

The 26.0 designation is clearly stamped on the bottom of the stem, but I am
not sure how to figure out how tall it is.
How do I take the measurement to figure that out?
