Re: [RBW] Riv TOSRV Riders
The weather was good and bad. Temperatures were great both days. Just above 50 with some sun on Sunday. No rain. However, cross and headwinds both directions. Saturday the winds were about 20 mph with gusts that were said to be up to 40. I saw a line of riders riding at about a 40 degree angle from the winds. Sunday the winds died down a little bit but were still brutal especially in some of the more exposed areas of the ride. Was still a great ride even though it completely wore me out. The route detour added some new interesting hills as well as 8 extra miles to the trip. So, 226 miles round trip I believe. All in all, typical interesting TOSRV weather. Re: [RBW] Riv TOSRV Riders
Great ride this weekend and great to see everyone again. Seems like the number of Riv or Riv-esque bikes doubled this year from last. Dick, you were right, it was a Hillborne (that you sold to him) and not a Hillson that I saw. Heres a link to an article and some photos of the ride. Re: [RBW] Rack on Rambouillet
I have done a number of multiday tours on my Rambouillet with the Nitto Rear Rack and Pa Panniers. I pack light but easily carry tent, bag, matt, cooking gear, clothes, food, and a few other small items. The bike handles great and I havnt had any trouble with it. Ive also used the rack with the Nigel Smith Big Bix bag which worked great as well. [RBW] Re: Long Sleeve lightweight wool shirts?
I just picked up some 140 weight shirts from the IceBreaker retail store in portland. I really like them, nice fit, very light weight, not scratchy at all. I have had some other items from them for some time now and have had no problems with wear and tear unlike some of my SmartWool items that started to get wholes in them very quickly from my bag strap or general wear. On Jun 18, 2009, at 4:37 PM, d2mini wrote: Anyone know of a lightweight/microweight long sleeve or three quarter sleeve loose fitting wool shirt? I'm basically looking for more arm coverage (sun protection) but less weight and more airflow for these hot southern summers. I have a seersucker that i'll wear with a short sleeve wool base layer which is great but I would rather have just the one layer. Every long sleeve wool shirt I come across has tight fitting cuffs (so no airflow up the sleeve) and they are heavy weight. --~--~-~--~~~---~--~~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups RBW Owners Bunch group. [RBW] Re: SF Question
One place right in the city that I like is the Mosser on 4th. It is a half block from Market St. and just outside of the Powell Bart station. Its a nice, clean, modern hotel with small rooms and really great rates for that area. There are also shared bathroom rooms with really inexpensive rates. We have used it for business travel and because of the quality, location, and price can recommend it. Even if you decide to stay outside the city it might be fun to spend a night downtown.
