It may be the fan. I had an FM 80 where the fan went bad that caused very
limited solar production throughout the day.

Maybe a DC output generator, the Wildcat Maverick charges a 48v battery bank

Check out Sol-Ark. They don’t need batteries to operate, but I’d consider
throwing some storage in the mix. I’ve installed several zero-export systems
using Sol-Ark.

Yes, wire nuts, and loose connections are a big issue in AC circuits as
well. One of my most frequent troubleshooting calls is tracing out
loose/burnt/arcing connections behind receptacles and switches. Usually
caused by sloppy workmanship, or contractors being in a hurry.

I also concurr, NEVER use wire nuts on the roof, I've personally installed
them, and come back 3-4 years later, and found them melted. Wire nuts are
simply for insulating a splice, not to be counted on for the mechanical
connection. I make my guys twist solid wire together before installing a
wire
I purchased one of the larger Makita roto hammers, after the bosch was just
too light to drive ground rods, the Makita has NO problem driving a ground
rod in most soils. Can't go wrong with Makita, they make the best tools.

Just installed one. A little noisy (like a small refrigerator running) but
installed on a 15A/240V breaker. Sonoma County, coastal, but it's working
fine so far. Challenge was enough airspace, definitely puts out cold,
conditioned air.
