As you can see the digital stations are not at the same Freq, some
are way off. Most of the VHF low stations moved to UHF so 6 is not
really 6 (don't have a 7 here), and yes you read right, 12 went to
13 and 5 went to 12... dont ask!!

I am currently using a model 12-255, it is NLA from Radio Shack, I
picked up a 12-262 Model and it seems to work the same (Mutes on EOM
signal), I haven't opened it up yet to see if I can find the mute line

did you have a preselector in front of the preamp, if not you just
amplified the noise and any other signals in the band, effectively
reducing your sensetivity, would explaine why it worked better
without it.
