The P50's came in several models. Low power in the short housing, high power
in the tall. As was mentioned before, the battery voltage was different for
the two models. It was only capable of one or two channels max. Under the
battery was an adaptor board with the charging polarity protection
John,
The PL or DPL board could be added to the short or tall case, just
depended on if the radio had the connector strip in it. You can have
one or the other, required a board change to go from one to the other.

will agree, when working, tough radios. Replaced many a battery contact though.

Yep - SP50 was on the side. P50+ was a contact at about
the 1 o'clock position on the board behind the battery.
P50 was also available in Low Band which was the tall case and 6W.

Mine all show and have a solid squelch that blinks off about once
every 2 seconds. Maybe there is something critical in the RAM module
and the battery went dead.
As I understand it there is an elaborate power up thing that gets
displayed.
But, how many people know that? I think his point was that it doesn't
seem to have been played with by someone who didn't know at least
somewhat what they were doing. I've seen some of those come in.

Joe is right. I used to work for Apple in the Warranty Repair and Refurbishment
Dept. and you would not beleive some of the damage these Do it Yourselfers
can inflict and say they never touched it. Some things seem simple to repair
and open, but once you do, its easy to forget how you took it

You have like seven radio's stacked on top of each other, would you be willing
to sell those?, and if you, how much per unit?
