What IFR's Flat Rate Minimum refers to is the flat rate repair with
calibration include all parts that are defective due to failure. The flat
rate repair does not cover the battery, physical damage, power cords, or
damage caused by water, liquids, or misused.
I know, I just had an IFR 1000S
While I suspect that you are interested in VHF and UHF, one method
that I used to calibrate an HF QRP wattmeter that I built was to use
a scope to measure the voltage into a 50 ohm load using a T,
then calculate the power and compare it to the wattmeter reading.
The wattmeter worked up into the
Ok, that narrows it down a bit.

Doesn't matter-in fact a repeater that's tied up all day with chatter
isn't available for emergency communications. Plus the more time it

Residents of lower Michigan,
I'm in need of some help identifying two different sources of interference,
which appear to be originating somewhere in lower Michigan, to UHF systems
in the Milwaukee area.
The systems being interfered with are commercial systems, one of which is a

Describe the interferencevoice, digital, video, dead carrier, etc ??

Is there an Air Base in the neighborhood? We have interference on the UHF band here also. Several technicians spent a lot of time tracing it to the local Air Base using direction finding techniques. The Air Force people just tell you to go away, when questioned. Checking the rules, the military

You should be able to get schedule 80 pipe for 20 foot lengths,
certainly 10' but I've bought it in a 20' piece before. It's wicked
heavy, probably 5 times thicker wall then fence rail.
Good Luck

I tried making a light pole using 3 10' sections of 3 or 4 (I forget) The
couplings are a definite weak spot. The pipe is threaded at that point
making it weaker and the connection just isn't very rigid no matter how
tight you make it. We ended up welding the couplings just to keep it from
