Hi Mick,
Thanks for this information about Magic Jack, do we need to have 2 Magic
Jack to establish the communication between 2 phones?
By example, Im living in British Columbia and I want to call in Quebec, is
it necessary to have 2 Magic Jack or only one is ok?
Thank you and 73

OR, Hi, Hi! You could just do what someone did to the Astron RM-50 I recently
rebuild with the help of these guys on the R-P website.
What someone did was to, wire and solder A jumper across the A/C HOT input.
Then to avoid any shutting down, they disconnected the +12 wire to the Crowbar

Every linear Astron I've ever owned had an issue with vhf getting

I've always cured the issue by putting a 0.01 cap across the output

Just about every Motorola 800 MHz radio is designed to transmit in the 806-825

There are several issues you need to overcome:
1. The software can be over-ridden by hex-editing the MAXTRAC.MDF file.
2. Those radios have good front end
Hello to the group,
I am trying to make a maxtrac or gtx 800 radio receive down on 813 mhz which it
normally doesn't reveive on.
All of the software says it's out of range and won't accept it.
Any ideas whether it will work and/or how to do it?
Thanks in advance,
Mike

Our club recently bought a cabinet from these folks:

We were very pleased with the way it was built and is has been in service for

Not cheap (around $1500) - but a very good cabinet.

This one has an easy solution. Use the SignalLink USB interface to get Skype
to your radio. It detects the incoming audio from Skype and keys the
transmitter, and the system is full duplex, so you have receive audio available

Be sure to secure your Sk
Used traffic signal control box, if you can locate any at your DOT. May also
try your local telco as they have outdoor cabinets that may have been pulled

Bypass the gate of the crowbar SCR with .001uF to ground (and put it?very close

Hi guys. I'm not sure how legal this is, but I guess the principle is
the same as IRLP or Echolink, except, has anyone interfaced their
repeater to a VOIP client, like Skype for instance, so one can access
their repeater from a Blackberry-type device?
Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hi, Bob. Long time, no chat!
The Astron P/S only supplies the PA - all other items in the rack have their

Other than that, I've been told to check al the coax jumpers to ensure they are

I've had DMMs also go nuts at my site too. Luckily the Astron supply hasn't had
that problem yet.
The fuse usually blows when something catastrophic happens. One such thing is
when the output voltage goes too high and the built-in SCR crowbar fires. It
shorts the supply immediately, and the exc
