I would look for some of the newer radios like the SM50/SM120 series or even
newer CDM series of radios from Motorola. The early pc programmed Motorola
radios (Spectra, Maxtrac, Radius 100..etc)draw a LOT of standby current and are
not the best option for a solar site. The radios need to be curr

Hi, I am trying to fix an old scope, Hitachi V660.
I need the front toggle switch, front trim, and maybe some other parts.
If you know anyone scrapping one of these, or where I can get parts, please
contact me.
I'm sending him one... it's taken care of...
thanks

Keep in mind the DDRR Antenna is a reduced size vertical polarized

I can do it, but right now you have to be very patient with

I'll try to find the envelope that he sent me the EPROM in, if I still

I don't know if this would be off topic or not. I need to find out if there is
a group on the CDM1250 or find someone here who is very knowledgeable on this
radio. I just started doing some radio work for a fire department that has
several of these and they are remote mounted with two control

A Gas Tube Arrestor is better suited to telephone lines and RF coaxial
cables than to 120 VAC AC power lines. If used on AC power lines, when
fired, they will produce a "bolted short" and cause a great deal of current
to flow. This is not a good thing!

I posted an ad on a couple of the commonly know swap sites, but this may be the

Henry,
I have an RP-3010 that someone reprogrammed the callsign for me. That
was back in 1999, he may still be around and willing to program your
EPROM possibly for a small fee. Email me direct and I'll see if he is
interested, if his email address is still good.

It would be if you wanted a horizontally polarized repeater system. The
Squalo is an SSB/CW antenna made for horizontal polarization.

I prefer the ground plane for my 6 meter repeater. Look at these two links:
http://www.repeater-builder.com/db/pdfs/db-201.pdf
and

They are rather simple antennas, very durable and last a long time. I
have one at 30+ feet now for several years
Looks very interesting and I wouldn't put it past the Chinese to copy there
repeater. It looks like a good one to copy at that. I did get your other

I've had good luck with the GE Phoenix-S radios. Everything's available
on the back, including pins for toggling through the channels, and
resetting to ch 1 for starter-up/reference.

Hi Mike, That's what I've heard as well.
What I have briefly learnt about the RD982 platform is that it has been
carefully designed after learning from other vendors mistakes and LEARNING from
them. The quality is such that one could re-badge the radio as a new generation

Yes, the only thing both radios will not do is text between both models.
Motorola is not doing there text features to the DMR standard and Hytera is.

Kevin,
I agree that its hard to bet Motorola but since the firmware is not even
released yet for the repeater how can you say the Voip stinks. Also you say
when you stick 10 pounds of crap in a 5 pound cabinet your going to have
trouble. Crap, if you were to see what is inside the repeater I think
This DDRR antenna is also new to me but space-wise it is even smaller than the

try the squalo if the majority says it won't perform as expected.
Would you use just one of them even though it's on the side of the towe
