They are rather simple antennas, very durable and last a long time. I have one at 30+ feet now for several years and never had a problem so far. It's at the top of the tower and the folded vertical element makes it a grounded element antenna, important for lightning damage avoidance. I also believe it is a little quieter relative to wind noise. A single antenna mounted out on the far edge of the platform should work. If it is a monopole tower, you would probably want to mount the antenna so that the less favored direction is towards the mass of the tower.
