I've had good success using Maratrac radios as transmitters, but not so much luck using them for receive. I usually run the drawer only, with no control head. Is there a known good place to tap receive audio to feed to a controller? I'm willing to dive into a service manual, but if someone

If my memory serves me well on the audio/squelch board is going to be a good place to get a discriminator tap if that is what you are looking for. Poke around there with a hi-z audio sniffer/test set and you will find it. I never did too much with them. Also, if you want receive audio

Readers, have a i made a door stop or does experience have some solutions, as things JUST happen, my MARATRAC was plugged up to a SPECTRA 9000 head... the genie came out of the bottle, and the maratrac emitted a few puffs of smoke along the way... experiences and suggestions welcomed ..

I am trying to use a UHF Maratrac as a transmitter. I want to leave off the control head. I can not get it to transmit without the control head. I have jumpered pins 17 13 and 19 4. I have checked the fuse on the logic board. I have tried the Ptt pin on the 16 pin. Are the any other jumpers

Well, I'm using just the box on 10M. Seems to work great (even better than most repeaters) at full power with just a fan. There are 'brains' in any remote mount radio control head. Yet, people use just the box all the time. (MASTR IIs, Micors, Mitreks, Etc.) You just have to replace the volume
