Code block functionality in comment posts

Hello all, I've been using ReviewBoard for over a year now, and the only thing I find a lacking from a user perspective is the commenting functionality. When posting comments, I don't have the ability to format fixed-width blocks of code or have the code in those blocks be properly syntax

I assume being able to have syntax-highlighted code in comments. If so, I'll say that I've wanted this for a while but never came up with a UI I love, as I really don't want to clutter the comment dialog. One thing that could work is following a ReST model where indented blocks of text are

This is basically what I had in mind. By default have comments use variable width text (as they do now) and not be interpreted as code, but if certain indentation is applied (ala StackOverflow) then the text is interpreted as code, a fixed width font is applied and the code is highlighted
