Hi,

Would you mind running your rbt command with --debug and including the
output?
Can you share how the repository is configured in the Review Board admin
site?

Fatal: not a git repository: 'None'

2021-07-07 Thread Peter Šilon
My .reviewboardrc. RB version 4.0.3

REVIEWBOARD_URL = "http://wskkosd002.global.web-int.net/";
REPOSITORY = "chargingd"
REPOSITORY_TYPE = "git"
BRANCH = "master"
LAND_DEST_BRANCH = "master"

When I try to post a review I get an error.

rbt post master..feature/dbus-api
Validating commits...
 [0/23]
ERROR: Error validating diff

fatal: not a git repository: 'None'
 (HTTP 400, API Error 224)

Repository exists. My .reviewboardrc was completely generated by rbt
setup-repo.

With NO-EXISTENT Git repo I get this:

rbt post --repository=AAA master..feature/dbus-api
Validating commits...
 [0/23]
ERROR: Error validating diff

The repository path specified is not in the list of known repositories.
(HTTP 400, API Error 206)

Any help please? I'm slowly giving up on RB.

Peter.

Re: fatal: Not a git repository: 'None'

2017-06-01 Thread Christian Hammond
Hi Andrew,

Git doesn't have a remoting protocol that allows for the kind of
fine-grained access needed by tools like Review Board, so you can't
actually provide a URL to a repository and have it just work like you can
with other repository types. Instead, you'll need to use something like
GitWeb or cgit along with the remote URL. Review Board can use that to
fetch data from the repository.

See
https://www.reviewboard.org/docs/manual/2.5/admin/configuration/repositories/git/#using-a-gitweb-backed-repository
for some setup options for Git repositories.

fatal: Not a git repository: 'None'

2017-06-01 Thread Andrew Wall
I've found a few related post but I haven't been able to make heads or
tails of them, so I'm asking again for myself.

People at work generally check out the repo with the following command;
git clone ssh://g...@git.company.com/repo

For some reason I was only able to add the repo to ReviewBoard by modifying
the Path field to (I think this may be related, but I'm not sure);
ssh://g...@git.company.com/~/repo

I've created and added the .reviewboardrc as suggested by my local instance
of reviewboard. If I use "rbt post" or try to attach a git generated diff
(by using the 'git diff' command) via the web UI I get the following error;
*fatal: Not a git repository: 'None'*

Using the web I also get the following line;
Line undefined: undefined

With 'rbt post' I also get the following line;
(HTTP 400, API Error 224)

Both my local machine and the server from which I'm trying to run
reviewboard are running Ubuntu 16.04. If there is any more information I
could provide please let me know. [I've enabled logging but it doesn't seem
to generate any messages from an attempt to upload a diff].

Thanks,
Andrew

Any good solution?

2016-06-07 Thread Christian Hammond
Hi,

The advice in that StackOverflow doesn't really apply here (and it's very
comprehensive). The problem has to do more with your repository
configuration.

It looks like you're using a Git repository, and it may be configured to
point to a remote server? If so, unfortunately Git does not have anything
but very basic remote protocol support, and you can't point just to a
remote server. What you'll need to do is point to something like
cgit/gitweb, as per these docs:

https://www.reviewboard.org/docs/manual/2.5/admin/configuration/repositories/#raw-file-urls

Let me know if you have any questions about that.

Can you run with --debug?

You also don't need --parent if you're posting a diff against 'master'. The
tracking branch defaults to 'origin/master'

Re: Error uploading new diff: fatal: Not a git repository: 'None'

2011-02-02 Thread Christian Hammond
Having Review Board manage the clone means adding new pieces of
infrastructure for scheduling changes. At that point, you may as well use
crontab.

We don't want Review Board to do the pulls on demand, because you may end up
with two requests happening at once, each causing a pull and generating
conflicts.

So it's something we basically need admins to handle themselves. The very
easiest way is to get gitweb or something going.

We're considering rolling our own little thing to stick on a server with a
Git repository that Review Board will be able to know about and talk to in
an effort to simplify a lot of this, but we're not there yet.

Oops, I meant "git pull", not a full "clone" each time.

Thanks for the confirmation.

Is there any chance of an option that just allows the full local clone
to be done over git (if the user says that's fine)?
Or would that be too strenuous on Review Board, as it would
(presumably) have to call "git clone" any time someone hits "Upload
diff"?

Re: Error uploading new diff: fatal: Not a git repository: 'None'

2011-02-02 Thread Christian Hammond
Yeah, unfortunately, Git provides no way to access individual files from a
remote repository without a full local clone, which is why the only two
options are having that clone or accessing over gitweb or a similar service.

We should definitely do better validation to make sure you can never enter a
remote URL without the raw file mask.

In that situation, I think what you would want to do is clone the git
repository locally and use a cron job to keep it up to date with the
remote repository. That's probably the only way around this.

Or, if you have control of the remote repository, add a post-commit hook
that notifies your clone to update itself (this would be less wasteful
of network resources).

Re: Error uploading new diff: fatal: Not a git repository: 'None'

2011-02-02 Thread Christopher Orr
I just reproduced this while trying to use RB 1.5.2 with a custom
remote repository (git+ssh://).
By trial-and-error, it seems the 'None' error occurs if the "Raw file
URL mask" field is empty.

Is it correct to say there's no way to set up a git repository in
Review Board, if the git server is remote and you have no web-based
access to it?

Regards,
Chris

Sure. I think the notable clues here are...

>>> Attempting to create review request on git@server:my_project.git for None

and...

>>> Error data: {u'fields': {u'path': [u"fatal: Not a git repository:
>>> 'None'\n"]}, u'stat': u'fail', u'err': {u'msg': u'One or more fields had
>>> errors', u'code': 105}, u'deprecated': {u'in_version': u'1.5'}}

and...

ERROR:root:Error uploading new diff: fatal: Not a git repository:
'None'

What value is "None" referring to, here?

Re: Error uploading new diff: fatal: Not a git repository: 'None'

2011-01-25 Thread mhoydis
A, I got this to work.
In the repository's configuration in ReviewBoard, the "path" is the
path to a local clone of the git project. Like /clones/project/.git
The "Mirror Path" is whatever your project's origin is. Like
git@server:project.git

Hi Michael,

Error uploading new diff: fatal: Not a git repository: 'None'

2011-01-24 Thread mhoydis
Trying to use post-review with our custom git setup. My repository is
configured in ReviewBoard with the path being
git@server:my_project.git. I've setup the SSH key in ReviewBoard to
use that git URL, and confirmed that's working. ReviewBoard 1.6
alpha 0 (dev)

I'm running this command on my Mac desktop:
git config reviewboard.url http://reviewboard.mydomain.com
post-review --parent=aa1c05d4bab33156cd3feaeb8ea6ed669eb92eee --
revision-range=aa1c05d4bab33156cd3feaeb8ea6ed669eb92eee:
1015d188c7d28c3b543b1e528ab34e8ee2a62cdf --guess-summary --guess-
description --publish --debug

This is the error I'm getting from post-review on my Mac desktop:
