If I remember right, recent HPI drivers will not compile under CentOS 6.
The version in the Paravel-Broadcast repository is 4.10.09.

What I do know, is CentOS-6 has that nice Sound pref thing on the
System/Preferences

That version should work fine with an ASI5211. No need to upgrade.

It is. Testing an ASI card with that tool will be meaningless, as Rivendell
uses the ASI-specific HPI mode of the card, not ALSA.
