Confess I've never used the Midisport 1x1, got a fistful of random
cheap thing off of ebay and bargain basements that get handed out as
they work well enough until you need to connect a rackfull of kit up.
The midisport 2x2 and 4x4 are very good bits of kit, but getting the

By the way, if you shop online (as I mentioned ebay.com), make sure you factor
in the shipping and handling cost. Some sellers show really cheap prices, but
add ridiculous shipping and handling fees to the transaction. So, buyers
beware.
Of course, my previous direction will search only for

That may be true for the 2x2. I've had a 1x1 for years, and it's always

My blog,
Avoid those that need firmware (m-audio Midisport springs to mind) as
support is not always possible.
Class compliant items go from the ubiqitous 1-in 1-out dongle through
to mighty rackmount items like the 8-in 8-out ESI M8U.

Hi
I have an emagic MT-4, an emagic AMT8 (still one of the best interfaces and
thanks to Apple having stopped Windows driver development you can find them
really cheap on ebay nowadays) and an ESI Midimate II. All of them work
great under Linux.

Personally, I've had much better results out of USB MIDI dongles than with
internal cards. Out of three cards I've used, all three have had their MIDI
driver broken

I know this isn't a Linux support forum, but are any of the Linux users
happy with a particular sound card that provides incoming MIDI support?
I have an old CASIO keyboard with standard IN/OUT MIDI ports, and wanted
to try streaming MIDI into Rosegarden.
