I always get problems with the broadcasts on 127.0.0.1 as it seems.
Does anyone have some well-proved iptables-commands to only allow

appropriate temp space for the sync. This might be unusable for big
servers.

You have a Linux/Samba-machine which tries to put files to a
W2K-share?
Using smbclient? smbtar?
Have you mounted the share via smbfs, maybe?
