I'm looking for a BA with strong experience working with the project
management tool, Changepoint, for a contract in Boston, MA. This person
must also be strong with SQL and have experience working in financial

*RESPONSIBILITIES:*

1.  Performs analysis of business activities to determine business
requirements.  Works with business users to understand and define needs
above and beyond requirements provided by the business.  Converts business
requirements into functional specifications.  Works closely with the
Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO), business users, QA,
developers, and other technology professionals to ensure that project
deliverables are completed on time and within budget.

2.   Acts as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and the
technology organization to ensure proper implementation of requirements
within the expected timetable. Communicates any material modifications of
business requirements to business stakeholders.

3.  Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives based on both user
needs and an understanding of applicable business systems and industry
requirements.

4.  Ensures proper data processing through the use of data checks and
reports to facilitate error free business processes.

5.  Collaborates with the QA team in developing high level test plans.
Reviews test cases developed by the QA team. Works with automated testing
team when needed for performance/load testing as well as automated
regression testing.

 6.   Works to ensure a positive end product for business stakeholders by
overseeing the implementation of new software.  Creates and maintains
proper training materials and business documentation.

7.Follow the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring that all
steps of the process have been followed prior to releasing any code.

8.   Provides application and production support as needed to the
departments and systems that they support.



*JOB REQUIREMENTS:*

1.   Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a business or technology
related field.

2.   Minimum of seven to ten years’ experience in the financial services
industry, supporting buy-side   technology.

3.   Strong technical skills including a solid understanding of underlying
relevant technical architecture and business processes.

4.   Proven ability to efficiently utilize resources and communicate with
others, both verbally and in writing.

 Complete Description: OCTO is providing Project Management support services to 
the Office of Engineering Services within the Office of Deputy Director 
Management Support at the District of Columbia Department of Corrections 
(DCDOC). Primary responsibility is the project management of Offender 
Management System (OMS) software upgrade project, at the Central Detention 
Facility (CDF) aka the DC Jail, from the development of the test environment 
through testing, end user acceptance and project completion. Incumbent will 
focus on meeting project commitments, deadlines and ensuring successful 
delivery of project deliverables as per contract requirements. Incumbent will 
be responsible for all aspects of project management including scope 
management, risk management, budget management, vendor management and project 
documentation. Incumbent will report to the Chief Engineer of the District of 
Columbia Department of Corrections. Incumbent will not have any supervisory 
responsibility. 

This project is expected to take upwards of 12 months to complete. The services 
required by this position are to provide project management/coordination 
services for the DOC OMS project. 



Duties include but are not limited to: 



• Meet with Team Leads, Project Managers, Business Analysts, and Developers to 
plan work as the projects advance. 

• Ability to use issue tracking tools and adhere to basic software development 
lifecycle processes, including Agile methodologies (Scrum). 

• Expertise in organizing tasks, translating priorities to a plan and remaining 
flexible as requirements change throughout the project. 

• Communicate user requirements and issue priorities to Developers and other 
team members. 

• Document decisions and plans for the team, including issues. 

• Follow up with team members to check on status of issues and reports status

• Work in close collaboration with Business Analysts, Team Lead and DOC

• Offer suggestions for process improvement and remains flexible with tight 
schedules and aggressive scope goals. 

• Provide general user support. Ability to troubleshoot and respond to problems

• Support and monitor ongoing maintenance deployments and site launches. 

• Identifies risk, documents problems and participates in mitigation strategy 
planning. 

• Coordinate implementation of JUSTIS to OMS interface both outbound and 
inbound; coordinate end-user testing, validation, and acceptance. 

• Coordinate inmate sentencing module testing and validation. 

• Coordinate software installation, data migration and testing in both test and 
production environments. 

• Coordinate Crystal Reports assessment, operational Crystal Report migration, 
and validation of report functionality.

SAP Project Management Consultant

Upgrade the current SAP Financial (FICO-GL) system from version 4.6C to ECC
6.0 on new hardware with a 2 server systems landscape (1 Production Server
and 1Test Server providing Development and Test instances). The project will
also upgrade the database from 9i to 10G and conduct Unicode conversion of
the data on all database instances (Development, Test and Production). All
functionality will need to be moved to the new landscape as is. No new or
additional functionality will need to be provided.

 

Setting up of the new hardware and operating system and making the new
server hardware ready for the install/upgrade will not be in scope for the
project.

The upgrade will move the existing system landscape from one HP-UX RP2470
(OS 11.11) to two HP-UX Itanium Blade Servers(OS 11.31). The existing
environment remain intact until the migration to the new environment is
complete.

 

This Project Management Consultant will be experienced with the ASAP for
Upgrade project management methodology and must have worked on several
similar upgrades. The consultant will work closely with the SCRS Project
Manager to develop a detailed Upgrade project plan which would include: WBS
(tasks list), scope statement, resources, utilization, schedule and cost.
The consultant working with the SCRS Project Manager will be involved in
managing the ongoing plan implementation and will track schedule/cost,
measure performance using EVA, identify variances and implement course
corrections. It is anticipated that this consultant will be heavily involved
early on in the project to lay out the project plan and on an as needed
basis during the project lifecycle.
