Hmm. Upon upgrading my system to Ubuntu 23.04, this problem appears to have solved itself. Maybe they fixed GNOME. Or did a new version of SCID get installed with the upgrade that fixed this issue? On Mon, Nov 1, 2021 at 2:50 PM Steve Cohen wrote: > A minor point but one that causes

I added a game (actually it was Carlsen-Nepo Game 6) to my database, and somehow it got corrupted. (What can cause this? I think it might have something to do with two instances of SCID open on the same database - which perhaps ought not to be allowed?) I kept getting these warnings about the

[Scid-users] HELP!

I just did something that possibly trashed my database and I don't know how or even if it's possible to fix it. I found it annoying that SCID insisted on showing me ratings (in parentheses) from other games with the same players when I did not enter ratings in that game's data. I was looking for

A minor point but one that causes me annoyance and might be easy to fix. I run SCID on a two-monitor setup, with the "main" monitor (as configured on my Ubuntu system) being the "second" monitor, not my laptop monitor. When SCID is started it "remembers" where it was last displayed and displays

Or maybe this is a howto. I use SCID to track games I play via email with a friend. I like to save the analysis I've done as I'm playing. When I enter the result, it always puts at the end of the analysis, not at the point where resignation occurred. I've been trying to copy the post-resign

When opening a database, default to opening the last game opened in the database. When opening a game, bring up the last position viewed in that game (rather than the beginning of the game). Both of the above optional of course. Thanks, Steve Cohen
