Brent, I admit that I was worried going into last night. Gratefully, all my

Not so long ago, Tom Cruise was the biggest movie star on the planet. During
the '80s and '90s, the guy could not miss. But then, one fateful day,

It sounds strange to say this, but Michael Jackson is coming off one of the
biggest years of his career. Jackson has sold more than 9 million albums and
nearly 13 million digital tracks in the U.S. in
It wasn't Oprah's couch that started the decline, it was his
appearance on BET's 106 and Park. Tom Cruise has been diluting his

rave, this start doesn't shock me in the least, considering the
multiple-personality marketing the movie was given. First it was tagged as
an over-the-top action-comedy, then, last month, they repackaged it as a
more serious action-adventure-espionage flick. Now, it's sort of a blend of
the two.
Daryle,
Again considering my loathing of Tommy-Boy, I don't WANT to see him back on
top. He is, as you said, the poster boy for Scientology. If he goes down in
flames, here's hoping that the entire mausoleum goes down with him.

But how is it rated? I've actually considered going to see it, as it looks
entertaining--certainly moreso than the movie out with the perennially unfunny
Ashton Kutcher and the how-does-she-keep-making-bad-comedies Heigl.
I remember Cruise on Tavis Smiley's show back when Collateral Damage came
Good points, but some of his movie choices--such as buying the studio--was an
attempt at revitalizing the old H'Wood movie star system again. I'm not mad
at him for trying to create another artist-owned studio; George Clooney has in
some ways tried to bring back that Old Hollywood film insofar
Intel and NVidia have been having a tiff for the last couple of years.
Recently, Intel didn't allow them access to their chipset for the latest
generation of cpus which forced Nvidia to use a round about way of
processing and it is still fast.

I think what is happening is that the chains are probably going for the
sure thing big money movies and not the smaller arty ones. They'd much
rather keep showing the chipmunks movie to an empty house.

Saw Dreamscape (1984) today. Except for the 80's clothes and haircuts it
holds up pretty well. I would love to see it remade by either the Wachowski
