Should dconf-editor reflect the settings in Shotwell?

I've got 'Write tags, titles .. to files' checked, but the files aren't being
written to. Not sure when this started.
Version is 0.15.0+trunk on Ubuntu 13.04 64bit desktop.
Nothing of interest in the log file ...
Suggestions?

today I get:
Shotwell A fatal error occurred when accessing Shotwell's library.
Shotwell cannot continue. (TagTable.add) [19] - column name is not
unique
Looking at bug #5754, I'm not alone
$ shotwell --version Shotwell 0.13.1
My tags are not deeply nested.
Do you want to see photo.db?
Thanks
Again, I've come around to Shotwell's world view.
When I started with SW I left my photos where they had always been,
since, I've been moving them to ~/Pictures/
I now prefer the directory structure Shotwell provides.
Can the ~60k in the old tree be moved without losing their tags?
Thanks,
Kent
Howdy,
What command line would display the exif data written by Shotwell?
$ exif DSCN1010.JPG
returns key:value pairs, which keys does Shotwell create or write to?
Thanks,
Kent

Howdy,
I've got lots of images and tags in Shotwell.
I've recently had a change of heart, wish the metadata was written
to the image files.
Can Shotwell write data to files already imported?

Howdy,
I need to monitor changes to photo.db, it seems sqlite will do this
if given the correct flags when connecting to the db.
I'm running from trunk: where in the source tree should I look
to make this change?

I am also interested in the potential for extensions to the Shotwell database.
Doing a dump of photo.db and importing into my db gets me started, but
keeping mine up to date with changes to photo.db gets tricky.
How about a Shotwell option which would maintain a persistent journal of changes

I'd like shotwell to make a shell call to mycode.py,

Howdy,
I often use Shotwell to locate a photo, then want the fully qualified
name of the file. I'm not finding an easy way to do this. I select
"Open in File Manager" but then I have to locate the file in the
directory, and I don't know an easy way to get the fqname in Nautilus.
Arrgh.
Suggestion
Howdy,
As one who imports in place, and cares about file
location in the filesystem, I've created the following problem:
As is my habit, I emptied my camera into a directory named
for the day ___/2011-03-12/*.jpg
However I blundered and named the directory 2011-11-12
I renamed the folder to 201
I updated to valac 0.10.4 per ./configure requirement
I get the following with r2748:
Compiling Vala code...
src/CheckerboardLayout.vala:1014.42-1014.54: error: Argument 2: Cannot
pass out argument to non-output parameter
if (area.intersect(row_rect, out bitbucket)) {

Howdy,
Looking at photo.db.TagTable, I see a list containing items like
thumb1677, which evidently refers to a thumbnail.
I would expect to see mention of a field in PhotoTable.
How does Shotwell connect tag names to image files?
Thanks,
Kent

Howdy,
I'd be excited to hear that Shotwell understood svg files.
SVG has a lot to offer photos and other image files, I am
generating svg's to hold my photos. This offers a great way
to annotate, layer, filter, transform etc. the photos in a well understood,
small text file. All the power of xml

If I choose "copy" when importing, the path of the original is
lost and replaced with a path based on date.
I won't be copying, the path structure has meaning and I
don't want it discarded.
If Shotwell detects a duplicate file it is ignored.

When I do File -> Import from Folder
I get the choice:

can link to the photos without duplicating them."
Where is the Library which contains links or copies?

Howdy,
I've been looking for a home for my image collection.
I have metadata in a .csv exported from a app I used a few
years ago, I will need to populate the new db with info on

Looking at photo.db, I was surprised that each tag listed the
photos, I would expect each
