It's no more inappropriate for Wifi than it is for
I successfully configured DECnet over IP using MultiNet. I'd guess you
have MultiNet on another system, with whom you'd like to speak DECnet,
so it shouldn't be hard.

Actually, this is a feature of the
Jonathan,
MultiNet includes a feature to tunnel DECnet over IP. We did that many years
ago. You will need to run MultiNet on both ends of the virtual circuit.
Depending on the topology of your DECnet, it may also be that at least one of
your DECnet nodes may have to be a DECnet area router.

There is nothing host specific about this. You get the basics with:

There is another potential solution for DECNET IV packet transmission over
IP-only wireless, but it requires two computers: set up an IP tunnel between
your wireless PC and a PC on the wired network, and shove the DECNET packets
through the IP tunnel letting the tunnel wrap/unwrap the DECNET

If you are privileged enough, SMAC can set the MAC address on Windows. Google "smac
change mac address".
Not that it helps much,

Repeat after me: WiFi is not ethernet... :-)
What you are trying to do essentially does not work. simh is essentially
trying to set the interface in promiscuous mode, and fake a second mac
address on the interface. This works just fine on ethernet, but it does
not at all work on WiFi, where

Thanks for that

I'm on npcap 0.994 current as of last night.
I turned off DECNET to eliminate one source of possible trouble. It
would be nice to have it on at some point in the future.

Have you tried running over a wired connection, rather than a wireless
connection? You might also try running SIMH under a Linux VM.

The vms systems on our campus are about to be shut down. My former
boss and I would like to still have access to our files, so I've moved
an image of a vax system disk into simh.
He is a networking expert and I am no slouch, but neither of us can
figure out why we cannot establish any kind of
