To everyone who supplied helpful comments on my problem, and also to
those who were having interesting side conversations -- a big thank
you. It was so exciting to get networking up and running. My last
step was a set console telnet command and thus able to use a real
terminal window. Editing

It's no more inappropriate for Wifi than it is for
I successfully configured DECnet over IP using MultiNet. I'd guess you
have MultiNet on another system, with whom you'd like to speak DECnet,
so it shouldn't be hard.

There is nothing host specific about this. You get the basics with:

Repeat after me: WiFi is not ethernet... :-)
What you are trying to do essentially does not work. simh is essentially
trying to set the interface in promiscuous mode, and fake a second mac
address on the interface. This works just fine on ethernet, but it does
not at all work on WiFi, where

I'm on npcap 0.994 current as of last night.
I turned off DECNET to eliminate one source of possible trouble. It
would be nice to have it on at some point in the future.

Have you tried running over a wired connection, rather than a wireless
connection? You might also try running SIMH under a Linux VM.
