HI
I have the latest pull for smh and I am running HP/Access o/s on the HP2100 cpu
& iop. On the latest pull the guest OS seems to loose track of time, notably
about 5 minutes over two hours. Anyone got any ideas about what might be going
on?
Thanks

A bit off topic, but if anyone has a BCPL compiler for the Dec 10 I have the
source code and files to the original Essex MUD. Unfortunately I think the
compiler is lost, but I live in hope.

Hi all
A bit off topic, but Im not a historical Dec user so don’t know some of the
basics with Dec OSes and have never oped one before.
I have installed and configured Tops-10 on a simh PDP10.
It is all fine, but when I am creating user accounts I have bumped into two

Thanks Rich. At Tim’s suggestion I cracked it by giving the user account
profile a quota on dskb: and that automatically included dskb: in the search
list for the user account.

That's amazing! I'll have to see if I can get it all going as i have never
opped a Dec 10 so it will be a learning journey.

Hi all
Im trying to get the BCPL compiler on TOPS-10 going and I have the install CTL
file which sets out the following pre-requisites:

Hi
There has been quite a bit of chat about the DZ handler recently, so I just

Possibly a silly question, but does anyone know how to get the printer to work
on TOPS-10 on simh? I have attached a printer files to the printer device but
the printer and the spooler fills up with output on TOPS-10, but the the
printer stays offline in TOPS-10 and I cant find out how to get
Having fixed the LPFORMS, SYSTEM.CMD and SYSJOB.INI, and enable lp20 in simh, I
still couldn’t get it to work until I did the shutdown and startup as below.
Now it prints. Hurrah!

Hi
Im using the pdp10 emulator and running tops10 7.0.4 and Im seeing a couple of
issues:
- Intermittently a terminal session will issue a TOPS-10 command (say R SUBFIL)
and the mux will echo the characters but then the session will not do any
output from the system until I go to the CTY and

Hi Tom
I have TOPS-10 monitor 7.04 running quite happily on simh.
One of things I found was that set cpu idle may not always be ok, but is fine
when you have a working o/s.
Also I set cpu tops10 - I’m not sure what this does but it means it works. Here
is my tops 10 startup script:
set cpu
It sounds like HP Fortran which is available for simh. You can find tapes and
manuals on bitsavers.org and there is a yahoo group dedicated to HP 2000 series
on simh.

Very off topic, but there is a old HP computer simulator called HP9800E which
fully simulates in software the look, feel and sound of the HP98XX range of
programmable calculators/computers. If you run it up it makes the fan noises
