Fred,
I agree with your opinion. I read the threads and had to take a larger
overview to what a benchmark actually means.
In my opinion, Benchmark planes, means some plane to which other planes
are compared to so that a noticeable advancement in performance,
building, transport, and flying can
Ryan,
Correct, The Uplink was Dick's plane. Fiberglass wings, T-Tail, Tip

The Upstart was a foamie by Dave Robelyn, I believe, manufactured for

The Dec 2007 National Geographic has a neat article on albatrosses. These
soaring birds have spans up to 11 1/2 feet and cover as much as 500 miles per
day, using dynamic soaring techniques to gain lift from the wind gradient above
the waves. The article's description of how it works is not

Common Guys it's not the Plane!
It's the Radio!
The Radio Joe Wurts is using.
That's it!
Now! Go out and buy the Radio Joe

Then well see what the hot radio is.
All this is such great toilet reading...

Billy,
I have a beautiful new JR Spectrum case to keep my JR 2.4 safe and sound no
need to hold on to the past.
I have set myself free from the bounds of 72 mhz world and now venture to the
new secure world of 2.4
So I begin to cleanse myself by releasing the items of the past thus allowing
Afraid I must disagree with you about floaters. While I'll grant that the
Mirage may have been a benchmark, I'd be willing to fly a good Bubble Dancer
vs. you with a Mirage any day. (Not that I'd necessarily win, we all know it's
the pilot, and I don't know you so you may fly a lot better than
WOW, look what I found in the pit of my garage it is a little dusty but a

On RCGroups tonight I saw something that I thought I would never see for sale,
a $1K DLG,
it is a Vandal fullhouse ship with RADS. Be the first to admit that I have
spent my
fair share on ships, but a DLG for $1000? That environment is way too tough
on airframes
for me to toss that amount
Gosh, maybe I'm just being ignorant here, but wouldn't the case work with
other normally sized Tx's?
Thus, I wonder why aren't you keeping it?

A bench mark plane shows up as having caused a spike or detour in the RC
Soaring time line.
It has little to do with just winning, example is the Icon which I mentioned
in my first post, it earns its spot because of three things...Price,
Designer, USA made.
How about the first Euro
