Need to change the password I originally created for installing Spacewalk. Not
the admin password, the postgresql password you create in the install. Can't
find any docs on it, and just using the postgres tools breaks spacewalk.

The Spacewalk install specifies the 5.0 generic jpackage rpms. Some of those
are really old, 2008. At least one dependency has shown up as having a
security vulnerability. Redhat has rolled out updated equivalents for
Satellite server. Will the redhat updates ever get rolled back in?

struts rpm there has not been maintained for years. The current build
directions point at that repository, so I believe that makes ALL current

When you mean going through a proxy do you mean a web proxy (i.e. squid). I had
trouble building a script using perl and the Spacewalk API to go through a web
proxy to reach the Spacewalk Server amd the RHN Network.

One note. After updating to 2.7 or nightly that incorporates these
fixes, you will need to recreate your Ubuntu/Debian repos in spacewalk
in order to have the fixed version parsing put the correct values in the

the SSL cert?
I use my own CA and I followed the guide at
http://unfuckablelinux.com/2008/07/02/spacewalk-and-avoiding-self-signed-certificates/
to install the certs.

rowser did you try restarting it? I've seen browsers get
confused when the server cert is changed.
My cert has a regular CN not a wildcard but that should work as far as I
know.

ckage is on the server though. I have tested this by doing a wget to
pull the package and installing it locally. Then with a rhn_check the
WebUI no long shows that it is a package that needs to be updated.
