The driver's code is probably safe (there is no abuse of pointers<->int
conversions), but as you say, maybe the usb interface is not mature
enough in 64bit... dunno. Maybe duncan knows a bit more.

I'd say, they support us enough so the modems work. It's not the ideal
solution, but they support GNU/linux (and indirectly FreeBSD) more than
some others USB ADSL modem manufacturers.

I use a 2.4.22-ck2 kernel with preempt and low scheduling turned on. And
i'm using the kernel module in its simplest form as i let hotplug
loading it up the way it wants and i don't have module entries in my
module.conf concerning speedtch.

hub usb "démarré" mais aucun periph actif (eteint en gros). J'avais
alors activé le bus usb dans mon Bios et la le Bios reservait tout seul
une IRQ... plus de conflits rulez jeunesse.

PS: You asked something about gethostbyname(). This is a function
implemented in the GNU libc since a long time now, and this feature does

section, i uploaded the MacOSX firmware which works well(tm) for me for
many months now (pppoa/pppoe)

firmware just encapsulated in the container format. It's a better
