My SuSE 10.0 PC is running a program for several days now. Until
yesterday, I could succesfully connect to the internet.
I returned this evening and wanted to check out my e-mail.
The Kinternet tool was clicked on and it tried to make the connection. But
it did not succeed. So I checked /var/log/m
I installed OpenSuSE 10.2 on an Athec LT51 laptop. It seems that no script
is activated to load the firmware on the Speedtouch 330 modem when it is
plugged in.
What I did was simply installing OpenSuSE 10.2 and after installation
copying the binaries speedtch-1.bin and speetch-2.bin in /lib/firmwa

Hello Roger,
I have a working speedtouch 330 connection on my laptop on which Feisty
Fawn is installed.
Perhaps I can help solving your problem?

I have severe problems in getting the purple speedtouch 330 to establish
an internet connection on Fedora 11.
After installation of Fedora, I copy the files speedtch-1.bin and
speedtch-2.bin to /lib/firmware.
After plugging in the modem, the /var/log/messages shows it synchronizes:

My provider, xs4all in the Netherlands, has served me well for 8 years.
Since last summer however, after they changed the properties of the
connection (it was upgraded to 6112 kb/s down, 832 kb/s up) things got
problematic.
The first is that the synchronizing of my speedtouch 330 modem (the purple

I had to switch to WindowsXP te maintain a normal connection. Under
OpenSuSE the line is going down nearly every minute this evening.
So far the advantages of xs4all with their upgrade that I never asked for...
