Nothing more seems to have been written to them after LMS was
configured.
The only odd thing I'm seeing in your logs is the failure to load the
Presets Editor plugin. You said it did exist. What about its permissions?
The scanner only finds eight tracks and finishes that scan successful.

That's called masochism. ;)
I call it efficiency :-). In the high times of SB using the mailing

I went through this recently and found that I needed to "Clear library
and rescan everything" in order for LMS to recombine albums that had
been split. "Look for new and changed media files" wouldn't do it even
when all the tags had been corrected and saved to the files. If you
haven't done

I'm sure there's something amiss in your tags for the song that
I have an album - Jason Isbell And The 400 Unit is the artist and the
album is the same name, Jason Isbell And The 400 Unit. There is a track
on that album that I cannot get to appear with the other tracks. So when
I view by artist I see two albums, both called Jason Isbell And The 400
Unit.

Thanks Paul
Good grief - I wouldn't have the first idea how to code this little
workaround. As you say, the consequences on different types of player
might be different, and this restriction was obviously put there for a
reason. I would guess that the 'setd' doesn't only handle player name

Latency can depens a lot on the OS and the audio subsystem - Windows are
usually the worst but a Rpi server may not be great with many players.
syncing players also creates a latency - the more player the greater the
possibility of latency due to syncing (each player have to achieve a

After a quick test it looks as though you've solved the mystery Paul.
Name changes get saved back to the specified file when the player is
stopped. It's not enough to pause the player, or to (soft) power it off
while playing or paused - it has to be explicitly stopped. Name changes

I can create new playlists and save but these are not visible from
outside of LMS so perhaps permissions is the issue but how to solve? I
don't know how to access root on the VortexBox.

Discovering files/directories: /media/music (23081 of 23081)
Complete 00:01:02
Scanning new music files: /media/music (254 of 254) Complete

This seems to be an incremental search for new tracks. In this case the

I've got a portable version of LMS based on a CubieTruck - for some
reason it's stopped doing the database optimisation when doing a 'Look
for New media files':

Afiak analog source are fine like LP player or tuner , cassete etc.
But the LMS system is simply not built for movie and TV purposes its a
music streamer .
Dont heard of anyone sucessfully getting laten y low enoigh for lipsync
Thanks for clearing that up. I suspected as much, thus proposing
creating a proper user here, as obviously it's kind of a hassle for all
involved in this specific scenario.

Hello,
I'm planning to install a home automation system.
I've already started some testing, especially for the multi-room audio
function.
My current test config is :
- a RPI 3B running as server (Picoreplayer 3.50 with LMS activated),
- 2 RPI zero (one with Justboom Amp, the other with
I just had a quick look at bits of code.
It is the setd slimproto command (as shown in your captured debug info).
One thing I saw on the LMS side is that this is not sent while the
player is active - so try a name change while the player is stopped.
It looks like it queues up the info to be
I found the -d option in squeezelite, and captured some debug
information.
I can see where squeezelite is getting the name from the file, and where
it then sets the name immediately afterwards:
Code:
root@openframe:~# /root/squeezelite/bin/squeezelite -v -d all=debug
