I used FileZilla and I didn't solve the issue. Same
3 files copied via Windows copy & paste is not the way to do it. I
am not surprised you have errors. If you need to copy that many files
you need to do it with a better tool - FileZilla or WinSCP or better
still rsync.

It is certainly strange that the older version reads these problem
files. Rather
They are not the same files then! They are copies. The same files would
be the same HD.
Try re-copying them but use WinSCP or Filezilla and not Windows copy &
paste.

Are they the same files on both LMS or different copies?

Here's the thing: LMS has -never- been able to play DRM'd files so it
remains a mystery why these files are playable on the older version.
Also, -lossless- files with DRM? Apple never sold those.

I just got back home and also went into the scanner log and found the
following which lists quite a few errors:
These errors are all artwork related. They shouldn't have any impact on
whether you can play a file or not. Unless the errors hint at problems
reading a file in general.

It looks like we need one of the developer guys to shed some light on
these errors.
It won't explain the cause , but it might be interesting to re-rip one
of the CD's to confirm the error is specific to those rips. Still hard
to understand why they read OK in LMS 7.72, without a developer chiming

I installed the nightly build and cleared and rescanned my library and
the issues are back. Here's what is in the log - any suggestions?:

It's the same files that have had the issue. I think I will try the 2.4
install again and then the nightly build to see if that does the trick.
I appreciate all the help

It's strange that the older version reads the problem files. Do you know
if they are always the same files that exhibit this? It's been years
since I used version 7.7 so I can't be much help with the changes that
have been made. Did you look at the server log before downgrading to
7.72 for clues?

Is there any reason why you vortexbox?
I am not familar with any of these out of the box lms Systems but i
would suggest to update
It's all in the same user group.
Since my last post, I installed an older version of Vortexbox on the
machine with LMS 7.7.2.. Now no issues playing any files. I have an
older version of LMS that is now working, but unfortunately I lose DSD,
but I have a version of LMS that is working.

I burned the filse using a Windows OS and the Vortexbox is a Linux based

I upgraded my Vortexbox to 2.4 and therefore LMS 7.9. Now when trying
to access certain files I get a "can not access files" error message.
It's very random and it applies to all of the files for that album. I
am still able to play all the same files in ITunes or Media Monkey
without issue.
