Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] New Debian packages for 7.9 ARM/x86_64

2016-01-25 Thread Michael Herger

oh, and I suggested "x86_64", rather than amd64, for the variable, so
one could use:

arch=$(uname -m)

to generate it automatically.

Why don't you let LMS do this for you? It has an update checker built
ind and would automatically use the correct string :-)

This limit is now configurable from Settings/Advanced/D'n'D. Be careful

I couldn't get any drag and drop to work in the October version, but
flacs do drag and drop in last night's version. Playlists don't seem to
work.

Do the playlists need to be exactly as LMS ones (with a count at the
start), or will the basic standard format work, such as :

Code:

LMS 7.9 on VortexBox Midi box, Xubuntu 14.04, FLACs 16->24 bit,
44.1->192kbps.
LMS plugin UPnP/DLNA Bridge to MF M1 CLiC (to 405/2 amp & ESLs) &
Marantz CR603 UPnP renderers.
Alternatively Minimserver & Upplay to same & to upmpdcli/mpd PC

sqpos is a special Ubuntu build mainly for running SqueezePlay on a O2

version 3.0.3 roobarb! decided not let it be installed in internal RAM.
I think because of the size.
On an external booting USB-Stick, LMS runs fine.

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 7.9 and Sox inline EQ

2016-01-25 Thread robio_d

Hi,

I am using a vortexbox OS, version 2.3 = Fedora 20, LMS 7.9 and
squeezelite and would like some help on getting some inline EQ working.

I started off by finding info from someone upsampling using LMS and
editing the /etc/squeezeboxserver/custom-convert.conf file.

I can get the upsample to work, verified by checking the squeezelite
logs. I then added the equalizer commands, and I get audio but the
audio is not getting EQ'd. I have verified this with an FFT.

Ideally I would like to EQ without upsampling, but just entering SOX
equalizer with the EQ parameter gets white noise.

Current custom-convert.conf

flc flc * *
# FT:{START=--skip=%t}U:{END=--until=%v}
[flac] -dcs $START$ $END$ -- $FILE$ | [sox] -D -q -t wav - -t flac -e
signed -C 0 -b 24 - gain -1 rate -v -I -b 98 88200 equalizer 58.0 7.05q
-10
flc pcm * *
# FT:{START=--skip=%t}U:{END=--until=%v}
[flac] -dcs $START$ $END$ -- $FILE$ | [sox] -D -q -t wav - -t flac -e
signed -C 0 -b 24 - gain -1 rate -v -I -b 98 88200 equalizer 58.0 7.05q
-10
wav pcm * *
# FT:{START=--skip=%t}U:{END=--until=%v}
[flac] -dcs $START$ $END$ -- $FILE$ | [sox] -D -q -t wav - -t flac -e
signed -C 0 -b 24 - gain -1 rate -v -I -b 98 88200 equalizer 58.0 7.05q
-10

I currently have Inguz working and have EQ successfully using the 31
band EQ, but this is not as precise as I would like (centrre freq and q)
and the EQ process is causing a 3 second delay in audio whilst cueing
new tracks, this is OK but I am sure SOX would be more efficient.

Does anyone have any experience with inline SoX processing with LMS?
Appreciate any help!

thanks

Rob.

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS: Where is SQLITE located, which came w/ LMS install?

2016-01-25 Thread Michael Herger
SQLite, unlike most other databases like eg. MySQL, is an embedded database.
There's no sqlite application or server. But the whole database code is built
in to the application (the DBI::SQLite Perl module in our case). Therefore
you'll have to either use Perl for your application or find a SQLite
implementation for your language of choice.

Yes, they can live side by side. They could even be using different

select an m3u all I get is the ability to add it to favourites, not to
play it, whereas I can play flacs (etc).

Hmm... I did expect some problems, but would not have thought playing
would be one of them :-). I'll look into this.

Would d'n'd to the web UI work?

I'm currently on Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - 1444236574 @ Thu
Oct 8 04:05:05 UTC 2015 - I'm very happy to move on to a recent version
if that helps.

I don't think this has changed a lot since October. But please try the
latest anyway.
