Where is the pref? I can't find it.
Settings/My Music
Is any of this linked to the Full Text Search plugin (which is
installed)?
No. Advanced Search is supposed to give you more control. Therefor not
trying to be smart like FTS.
Again I'm being dim, and don't understand. So what is FTS?

Sorry - My intention was kind of to ask if Daphile allowed for this.

A text file can be zipped into very small - so an extract of the log
file zipped will easily fit the limits. Make sure extension is ".zip"

i wouldt be very surprised, if the lms from vortexbox has this / another
behaviour like a std. lms install.

Hi,
always remember one thing:
You need some knowledge for everything.
If you run out of the box systems like vortexbox or daphile - the point
where you need the knowledge is NOT at the time you setup the OS / PC.
eg Vortexbox is based on a very old Fedora and Daphile is based on
Gentoo. And

I don't know what you mean by "do they tune something to something
unusable".

Allow me to comment on these, even if it wasnt my original post. I set
up LMS and also Squeezelite on my old laptop with Linux just today,
effort was painless, but it did involve just a bit of Linux knowledge as
well.
Hope this helps.

My LMS isn't from vortexbox - that's just the hardware. I just didn't
(and still do not) understand what you meant by "do they tune something
to something unusable".
OK - deleted cache.db and library.db and it seems to be working.
It is better - most of the Music is there, although there seems to be
still a problem as quite a bit of music is still missing.
Attached the log.

Thanks, I'll do that later. I really struggled to post anything within
the character limits. Will investigate how to add a text file.

I tried a reinstall of the same version of LMS over the one I'm running.
Tested it on my server (normally headless but I can connect monitor &

I'd be very reluctant to do a complete wipe and reinstall - it takes me
hours to set up Custom

Linux is a OS and a OS is nothing else but a tool.
And if you only got a hammer as a tool all problem looks like a nail.
So using the best tool for solving a problem is always a good choice.

Is clearing the ...cache/Templates directory completely a safe thing to
do? It solved my problem, but I was somewhat nervous about it. There
were two other subdirectories in there that did not get regenerated, one
'opt' (containing an old, different, version of LMS) and the other
'storage'

This looks as if you were facing some caching issue. Please wipe your browser’s
cache and force a reload of the LMS web UI. The advanced search did indeed
change recently.

It was as simple as changing the motherboard battery. Turns out the PC
didn't want to boot when the battery had just a little power left in it,
enough to confuse the BIOS but not enough to feed the boot process. It
was a lot cheaper than a new computer!
