You're awesome! Just installed the latest 7.9 nightly and now the
service starts up fine and web interface works. Haven't yet tried
playing any music though... :)

Bravo very cool to use the temp playback feature in a playlist ! :)
That volatile file handler is way more helpful than I initially thought.
It helped me implement various features like continuing playback during
a wipe & rescan, d'n'd playback of any file through your browser.

I wasn't aware that the 5.22 issue, which has just broken LMS for me
too, had a quick solution, other than entirely building your own, which
I was going to try next.
I added binaries for Perl 5.22 x86_64 Linux last night. Please give it a
try. Thanks!

I'll be damned. I just checked the player settings and crossfade was
OFF. I have no idea how it happened because I haven't touched the player
settings for years. Set crossfade to ON and everything is fine again.

Wtf will resetting the router do? It's clearly a USB not ready issue.
That said I agree that W10 with a USB drive is not a sensible approach.
You will get issues with Windows power management, possibly Anti-Virus
software and general hardware disconnects that seem to affect desktop OS

If you don't mind editing your playlists in a text editor: use LMS 7.9,
replace all file:// urls in your playlist with tm
If I do it like that, i can't play the playlists from LMS.
What I want is to be able to play the playlists via the playlist menu,
but not have its entries added to the LMS library.

Hi,
its "easy" and "simple..
- add a group like lms where you and squeezeboxserver are members.
- set permissions to the Folder that lms should scan to lms
- unset permissions where lms shoulndt scan to you
- reboot
- rescan
- be happy

They should not really clutter if they point to the same files as the
playlist are made from ? Then LMS will see that it is a duplicate
entries and the same file and thus not ass it to the dB again .

That means some other Thread around 2016-01-15, 14:06 with the same
question and maybe an answer?
Sorry mate, simple questions
I don't know what Yapp is.
I have been running Debian testing for years, not going to switch back
to stable for LMS.
Is it possible to use a separate install of Perl (older version, not
from the debian repository) just for LMS? That might be a good
workaround.
I too am affected by this perl 5.22 problem. Is there any ETA for when
LMS will support 5.22? Any workarounds I can use until then? (And no,
going to Debian stable is not an acceptable workaround.)
