Hi digimaster,
I have been having problems getting Qcenter working. I opened a ticket a
few weeks ago and they did a remote session and collected some data.
They stated that others were having the same issue. After three weeks
they responded that they have found the problem. They are saying it

Hi
I wonder if anyone can help please with an irritating issue? I have been
experiencing a problem with LMS over the last few days where the LMS
server switches itself off. Switching it on again causes it to run again
for a time before turning off again. My OS is Windows Homeserver 2011
and I am

Do companies actually allow users to setup audio systems in a corporate
environment?
If I'd tried to do this in any of my jobs I would have been severely
reprimanded or sacked. Half the time I was the IT decision maker and
would have re-ghosted any such PC immediately.

Hi,

Also working here, plus some NPR podcasts that would not play.
Thanks Michael :)
But I have to confess that the pod I randomly picked yesterday still
don't work - but then I didn't try any other at the time. I did now and
all other pods are working.
404 would be a different problem. It means that LMS was able to talk to
the server, but that the server did not find what we
Above build works perfectly.
Whatever you did - you did the right thing.
Let's hope I didn't break too many things along the way :-).

Ok, here are some of the many issues you'll be facing:
piCorePlayer: no-go
- web UI is not encrypted
- admin console has no password protection
- ssh is using some default credentials
LMS:
- web UI is not encrypted
- CLI is not encrypted
Your to-do list:
- implement https on LMS
- disable CLI
Is there a reason why installing LMS on piCorePlayer isn't an option?
-LMS on Raspian Stretch -> 2x Radio
-RPI 3 ('Mopidy' (https://www.mopidy.com/)), Aune S6 - Exposure 3010S2

If this is truly what you IT specialist is asking for (its not) then
goodbye internet as DNS and many other LAN traffic is not encrypted.

There seems to be a bug that hasn't been fixed for a while that I
thought I'd finally bring attention to. It's minor but still a bug none
the less. It seems to only be when navigating using the webgui for a
remote stream via "http://localhost:9000/stream.mp3;

The issue with storing file times in UTC (which i agree is the right
thing to do in all circumstances by the way) is that when you evaluate
the time stamp for display to the user (or internally via an API) the

not based on

Enable logging player.source to DEBUG to see why transcoding is failing
(i.e it will show which rules failed).
Enable logging player.source, note time at start of test, do test, note
time at end of test. Copy ALL log

like they've fixed the issue with installing

It's working today. Sorry, I got
Http_client <> LMS(slimserver) <> player(squezelite) (Am I right
with this topology ?)
If you're not allowed to have any non-https traffic in your network,
then the https endpoint must be the player, not LMS. Using LMS to
terminate https already is implemented.
I think you're not clear

Wrong.
Nope. It's been a Windows only issue.
I just did my first "Look for new and changed media files" since the DST
change over and it took about 2 1/2 minutes (94,048 tracks, 4,965
artists). That's about the same time it always takes. This is Windows

That's correct, because that

WAV is less compressed than FLAC (about 2 to 3 times larger typically),
so WAV will use more network
Is that something you can address (at some point), or is this something
outside of LMS / your control?
I guess it should be solvable in LMS. I just don't have a clue how to do
it...

It would need to be implemented in the -players-, not in LMS. Firmware
updates for hardware players you

Michael why are You ignoring me and my question? I am sad ;)

IIRC This possibility was tested on Touch. CPU load is higher when
playing WAV than Flac possibly because of higher network traffic, more
packets, less space for buffering etc.
(It seems to me that this is a brader issue, since I also had a similar
behavior on other podcasts.
Unfortunately I have to agree. It seems as if the http protocol handler
behaved slightly different than https when there was no bitrate header
available. In this case it does open the same

Yes,
Both of these responses are equivalent to "LMS should not behave in this
manner", however, LMS is still behaving as I stated earlier.
I'll add a third one... Because it's probably not as simple as you
think: but if nobody but you is suffering this issue, couldn't it be
something else on your
I don' know if LMS checks this ... or perhaps OS does it leading to
different results on different platforms but there is an issue with the
GeoTrust certificate chain.
Could everybody please try again?

I think you should fix this on the server side: tell Windows to allow
LMS to do this. You shouldn't need (and should not do!) run LMS as admin.

I have narrowed down the issue I had when upgrading to the fact that LMS
is starting without Admin rights on the server, and therefore fails to
open the right ports. See specific thread here :
And you've stopped transcoding to wav to see if it's the software decode
step that's failing .. ? .. (which should be inaudible unless you are
utterly mangling the sample rate or bit depth during this transcode
step).
