For example FLaC can have year tag and or date tag . Use one of them .
You can actually see the tags in LMS itself itÂ’s somewhere in the track
details then you know.

I don't understand why you wouldn't just browse by genre if that's how
you've organized your library. You get the same hierarchy of genre >

genres and (IIRC) you also get genre filtering, so you'd only see albums
or tracks by
Hi
I might understand this wrong but I checked the years with Tag
and don't see my albums in the correct order . I have an almost complete
set of Porcupine Tree ( as one has ) but if I sort by year and album I
see a wrong order. Lightbublb sun in Tag has as year 2000 but in
LMG I see year 2007!
Update. Uninstalled Avast (completely using awsclear) and turned
windows firewall back on, and all squeeze devices can connect to LMS.
It appears that the recent security update to Avast Free 18.6.xxx on
10/10/2018 appears to have initiated the issues.
Avast "Free" does not have any firewall
I would like to add to this thread.
Long time Squeezebox and Avast "Free" user without issues.
I updated Avast "Free" yesterday and now none of my Squeezebox devices
(2 touch and 1 boom) can access LMS. Disabling Avast does not help,
disabling windows firewall does allow the devices to
Yep, it was Avast. I uninstalled it (it's a free program so no problem)
and the problem was over.
I looked around Avast and couldn't find any settings that might have
resolved a firewall situation. I'll leave it off, and maybe install
Norton -- I'm waiting a couple of weeks until my
I don't know about Avast in particular, but there is a good chance that
it has a built-in firewall that prevents external systems making a
connection to "ports" that LMS is listening on.
Try temporarily disabling it - and if that resolves it then you will
have to work out how to tell it to allow
Hi there,
I just upgraded my LMS installation on my music server to 7.9.2. All
seemed well, LMS is running on the server and I can access the music
files from the web control on the server.
As well, the Win 7 computer on which LMS is installed is visible to the
network, and I can access it

How many of these "by folder" do you have?
Maybe you can use the virtual library function.

No, I actually use the genre tags for that but keep all the original
albums together. I mostly listen to a lot of older music and have quite
a few compilations so it's not unheard of in my collection for a single
album to have 2 or 3 different genre tags.
Hi,
i dont think thats possible.
btw: if some album has a single instrumental track - the rest is pop or
something else - do you move that track into another folder?
BMF or Browse Mediafiles is just a benefit not the real deal.
I am looking to see a display BY FOLDER of albums in a grid featuring
cover art in the style of the main "Albums" menu option.
I do have my music sorted by folder, then artist, then album.
If this isn't clear I don't know how else to explain it.
Hi,
just 4 fun -
- i'd took my windows Notebook
- grab all the wav files from C:\Windows\Media
- converted them to .mp3
- put them on a usb stick
- add that stick to my lms library
- play them
No Problem on my side and these files are very short

Thank you for the consideration.
My music files are all on a USB thumb drive. The problem occurs on only
one folder, but it is the only folder with sub-10-second files. The
other somewhat similar folder has shorter than normal files, but they
all exceed 30 seconds. So your hypothesis of slow

Pavel Sporcl;Petr Jirikovsky
There is no folder with this name and if I click on the entry it is
empty. Under Pavel Sporcl there is an album where both artists are named
as "Album Artists" but I cannot

I think you use the bmf funktion not the database ones?
