Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] HTTPS vs HTTP and SuperDateTime plugin
I am sorry to see that you removed the Insecure HTTPS setting; it IS gone from the latest nightly update (LogitechMediaServer-8.0.0-1590897265). It is useful to be able to see that a system may not be using "full" HTTPS. I am sure that many/most Agreed, it could be helpful to know that we have a problem verifying certs on Windows. But as you've shown leaving it there was super confusing. You tried to change it, which made things fail, then complained that the setting did not stick, because it was reset due to known issues. I'll probably change it to read-only on Windows instead of hiding the pref. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Apologies for being dumb, but when in living room we access Touch direct without PC running. Then, the UK Classic FM button / link does not work. Can I ask how I enter the new link / "manually tune" with the touch? I am unsure where in the menu structure. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 8 updates - no notiifications being activated
Castalla, Like you indicated earlier I too received a notification a few nightly updated ago but generally did not receive updates. I too thought that notifications were instant until I found that the update setting is for "daily". But, as I indicated, I am going check for updates but not install them right away. I will wait at least 24 hours to see if I do receive a notification. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 8 updates - no notiifications being activated
Castalla, I have been having this problem also. But in reading this thread, and checking my software updates settings, I found that I have LMS set to check for updates daily; the choices are daily/weekly/monthly. I have been assuming that the notification of an update would come immediately after the nightly release; it had been a long time since I accessed the update setting and did not remember that it had been set to daily. Not so. So I am assuming, if you are checking within the 24 hour "daily" period, you would see the update is available but LMS would not yet have checked for an update and sent the notification. I check every day for updates manually but I am planning on waiting for 24 hours after I see that an update is available to see if I do get a notification from LMS. Mr. Herger, I am sorry to see that you removed the Insecure HTTPS setting; it IS gone from the latest nightly update (LogitechMediaServer-8.0.0-1590897265). It is useful to be able to see that a system may not be using "full" HTTPS. I am sure that many/most LMS users could use the information shown in the setting to correct any problems they might have. I am not one of them. But my initial question was only in the hopes that you might be able to supply some information as to how I could better protect my system since you, in instituting the setting, has to know about HTTP/S. It was not to change anything or upset anyone. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Possible bug: Plugin updater
FYI - I'm getting a "Timed-out" from Sourceforge download and I think sourceforge has been bhaving badly today. SO I did a "wget" to see what is happening. I'm sure 'Keep' is checked. What log level - it's set to error at the moment. No, set it to debug. Error would only log errors, debug does log a log more, like eg. "updates disabled" and similar stuff. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
