Windows version of LMS has all CPAN modules bundled together - so Windows build of LMS will always have a "good" version. Users of the slimserver.exe build of LMS cannot update CPAN modules separate from LMS. Linux and OSX require io::Sc ocket::SSL modules to be installed separately and are often tied to the distro release so with an old OS release (e.g. 3-4 years) , it is likely that latest IO::Socket::SSL is also old. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112758 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

The server started crashing / not starting reliably just a few days ago. If you change track the GUI shows it but VLC or Foobar2000 continues to play the previous track until you pause/play. The behaviour is the same with either software player. I think when I initially reported stream.mp3 as not working I had picked Qobuz FLAC and although I had changed source I probably had not hit pause/play to refresh the software player in effect. I have also noticed the GUI on occasion showing the player as not playing when it is. I will fire up my old Internet Radio device tomorrow and see if that is the same. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Accessing Plugin tab in settings (web interface) crashes LMS. How to debug?
Hi there. My first attempt at using LMS, all started well. I am using Picoreplayer on a Pi4. When I come to add on plugins that section of LMS webportal seems to be there once, when selecting plugins and click apply it hangs with a blank screen where plugins were. I am also having issues accessing via port 9000. But Picore takes me to the LMS setup page. As I said completely newbie to LMS and pi so any help gratefully received! cheers RRB RRB's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=70542 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112758 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Yup, same problem here. Server runs on Windows 10, headless, no display attached. Windows update did a reboot and now the server fails the same as the original post. My server has been running for ages inc. restarts to update plugins, so this is either a Windows update breaking something, or a mismatch between 7.9.2 and the latest Windows 10 update. Greetings, Setup : LMS 7.9.2 on Windows 10 2004. Since today I am experiencing a similar issue, yesterday and the days before all was fine. Consistently when clicking the plugins tab LMS server simply stops ( 2 out of 3 times). Re-installed 7.9.2 from scratch , same issue. Installed 7.8.0 , problem gone. Installed 7.9.0 , problem gone. Will probably wait for 7.9.3 to come out of beta. Are you sure that remote flac used to work? I looked at the transcoding rules and the flc mp3 does not allow I so it cannot work for streams, only for files. I will check but Ive not changed that rule, so it might have always been the same. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS 8 and stream.mp3
stream.mp3 - using VLC and Foobar2000 on W10 client LMS is as above. Some testing today and for inexpicable reasons it is now working although there is a big control problem - see later. I can play local mp3, FLAC (transcoded to mp3) and mp3 radio I can't play Radio Paradise (FLAC) but I can play RP (mp3) as expected. I can't play Qobuz (FLAC) - no transcoding takes place and the GUI skips through all tracks of an album - as expected. I can play Spotify (320kbps Ogg Vorbis) I thought that I couldn't play AAC e.g. BBC iPlayer but I can. Interestingly whenever I switch between sources or even jump between tracks it seems I HAVE TO *pause and restart* VLC/Foobar to get it take effect. Something not quite right. I think following may work - I use to change a post title. 1. go to first post 2. Selected "Edit post" 3. Select "Go Advanced" 4. Change text in title box. Not sure if this just changes post title or thread title as well. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112756 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

You'll see a couple of other current threads about recent problems with big LMS crashes, and problems accessing Port 9000. The crash on hitting PlugIns was one of the many symptoms I had (though I didn't mention it in the thread I started). The solution to all the issues seems simply to be to upadate to 7.9.3. 7.9.2 seems to be doing some very odd things to a lot of folks.. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] LMS Frozen, Crashing...
As Thread Starter, is it possible for me to edit the Thread Title to add "Port 9000 Unavailable" to it: there are now multiple threads addressing the same curious phenomenon, seemingly solved by installing 7.9.3. I'm sure I've done a Tread Title edit before, but now don't see how to do it. Is this colleague scanning his music files with LMS?
