adding to previous post: it may be worth noting that the "Connect timed out: Bad file descriptor" error first appears in the log at 10:54 pm yesterday, my time. That's 0254 August 16 UCT/GMT. Sometimes the "Bad file descriptor" is part of the error message, sometimes not.
