I totally am not aware of any scan issues related to that Ubuntu
version. Would you have a link to a related discussion?

This issue is probably not that general and might be related to my own
configuration. On the other hand, I tend to use defaults and are having

Yes. I've never become aware of a problem in the years that I've run LMS
on Debian. Currently running Buster (Debian 10).

Is there any discernible characteristic that differs between the files
that do play and those files that don't ?
mrw's Profile:
Yes for both of those commands.
One thing I have noticed: when I try to play one of those ALAC files the
server spins up an instance of faad. If I try to play another problem
file the server will spin up an additional instance of faad. I got up to
four instances of faad running this morning
Thanks a lot ralphy! New builds should be using your modules. Let's see
what that gives.

No, it i snot a Material issue but an LMS one. Material and the default
UI use different APIs. I have created an issue on LMS's github page for
this - https://github.com/Logitech/slimserver/issues/437
*Material debug:*

1) Since Upstart and Systemd are used in Debian/Ubuntu, LMS by default
is started before the network is up, which causes issues with thinks
like online radio stations, Spotify etc. My /etc/rc.local workaround is
fine, but not very nice. A structural solution would be better.

Actually, there's something very wrong!
Picture below shows my main library view, there should be 250 albums in
the "New Music" view, now there are only 9, and all of these are
ancient, been in there years. Some library
