I run ubuntu 20.04, but always from git and my manually installed systemd service. I also run a custom perl. This is the best way to avoid OS updates from breaking things. Anyway. It looks like there are 2 issues in this thread. 1) Install broken on some systems. 2) LMS starts before the internet is reachable. #2 is a problem we run into on pCP, as network routers are very slow to startup, and pCP is booting in 15-30 seconds. We deal with that by waiting for the time to get set to start LMS. The concern here is there is not a site that is "reachable from everywhere" We use google with pCP, and that fails quite a bit from some parts of the world. So how would we "choose" a common site for a standard install script?
